Denton Office Move

It’s never that long before I’m back on the road again. This time I was off to Denton to do an office move. I had recently been there before for the Surface deployment, so I knew what was in store. Unlike the hard labor in Laredo, all the grunt work was going to be done for me. The nice thing about Denton County is they provide us with an office and basically took care of all the wiring. All I had to do is install a new router and switch and then patch it in to their existing wiring.

Since it is a 4 hour drive, I headed there the night before and got to the same hotel as last time.

I decided to go to Walmart and get a chicken and some avacado salsa dip. It was a good way to get away from the typical fast food on the road.

The next morning, I had a standard La Quinta breakfast and then made my way to the office.

Overall, everything went pretty smooth. My biggest obstacle was a dirty cabinet. They had drilled the holes for the cables prior but it wasn’t vacuumed out. Someone came by fairly quickly and got it all vacuumed out.

I had to mess with the router a bit to get everything up, but beyond that it was actually pretty uneventful. I know it makes a crappy story, but it does make for a good day for work. I actually got done a bit earlier than expected and drove back to the hotel to finish my day out there. You could tell it was definitely very hot for February!

The next morning it was bacon and eggs. That’s definitely one of my favorite things to eat for breakfast.

I got fuel and noticed it was much colder than the day before.

By the time I got to Austin, it was pretty nice out.

Overall, this trip went well. It’s definitely nice to get out of the office, especially when things go smoothly.
