This is a La Quinta I stayed at while doing some work in the Arlington area. It appears to be the La Quinta that many people stay at when flying out of the DFW airport.
The fitness room:
The internet was pretty unusable here. A speed test timed out on my computer.
I was able to get one on my phone.
Another issue was I constantly got redirected to the main La Quinta page. This was very annoying and also made it very hard to use the internet. Luckily, I didn’t have anything bandwidth-heavy to work on that night.
This is one of the rare La Quinta’s that has happy hour every night. The night I was there, they had BBQ sandwiches. This definitely hit the spot!
One thing I noticed with the online reviews is the breakfast was very hyped up. It was definitely good, but standard for the nicer La Quinta’s.
I did find a bar of soap from the last person in my room on the soap holder in the bathroom (which I found kind of disgusting). There was also only one bar of soap in my room. Besides that, the room did seem clean. This is the first time this happened in all the La Quinta stays I’ve done.
I did notice the front desk to be very helpful and friendly. I noticed this is a hotel that must get a lot of infrequent travelers that are using the DFW airport (judging by the online reviews hyping up things that are really standard at La Quinta’s such as the breakfast). I know it was a pain for me to wait while the people in front of me were checking in and asking some of the dumbest questions (like why they had to initial by the no smoking policy). The front desk staff appeared to have a ton of patience and answered all these people’s questions. You definitely have to give them credit for doing their jobs well in this respect.
Upon checking in, because I am a frequent traveler and a La Quinta Returns Elite member, they gave me one of the best snack bags I have received in the many La Quinta’s I have stayed at.
Another thing they did well is they got me another bar of soap right away when I came back from happy hour and mentioned the issue with housekeeping.
Overall, I’d say this La Quinta is pretty good overall. The internet obviously sucked and the housekeeping mistake was kind of nasty, but beyond that the hotel was nice and the front desk service was great. The daily happy hour is definitely a bonus and the breakfast was pretty good.
