North Country Meat Shop, Thunder Bay, ON

North Country Meats is serious about meat. The place itself has a very industrial feel to it. Kind of like they’re there to crank out the meat and meat is everything to them. This industrial feel first starts when you drive up to the building. If it weren’t for the sign, you could mistake the place for an auto shop.

While the outside might make you think it’s an auto shop, you won’t be mistaken inside. When you open the doors, you are immediately surrounded by meat. There are a few other local products, but meat is the primary focus.

I found out Northern Meats is Finnish-influenced in their meat style. I was able to quickly find the pepperettes and get on my way. If you’re ever looking to have a huge selection of meat and find it quickly, this is the place to go!
