Parish Brewing Company, Broussard, LA

Parish Brewing Company is a brewery in Broussard, LA. They have a simple goal of making awesome craft beer. My uncle was acting as the designated driver as he showed me around the Lafayette area. He recommended Parish Brewing as a place that makes good local beer. We decided to stop and check it out.

We went inside to the taproom.

I saddled up to the bar and ordered a Cane Brake. This is their original and signature beer. From their website, it says they couldn’t keep up fast enough with the demand when they first started brewing it. I can definitely see why. It was pretty amazing and one of the best wheat beers I’ve drank!

After drinking a beer, I got another one. A tour was just about to start, and I wanted to have a full glass. We got in line to take the tour.

On the tour, we got to see the brewery in action. I learned that local Broussard water was garbage, so they go to extensive lengths to filter it. They were mixing the mash in the tanks and looked very busy. We also made it over to the bottling facility to see the machines that bottled all the beer. Finally, we got to see a big bag of hops.

Afterwards, I had one more beer and then headed out. I snapped a few more pictures of the taproom.

Parish Brewing Company was really cool! The Cane Break was some of the best wheat beer I’ve ever had. Seeing their operation and getting a tour was also very cool! If I wasn’t going to drive another couple thousand miles after my visit to Louisiana, I would have bought some beer. It only came in bottles, so I didn’t want them to break along the way. I know on a next visit, I’ll definitely have to load up on Cane Brake!
