Top Golf, Austin, TX

I never been that big of a golf person, so a place like Top Golf never really caught my radar. Victoria has went here several times and she enjoyed it, so she suggested we go with a few friends. We headed to there and parked the car next to the massive fences to stop the golf balls.

There was a worker in a golf cart giving people rides to the front, so we hopped on.

There were a lot of people in line. You could definitely tell this was a popular place!

I signed up for the $5 required membership and then we went to reserve a bay.

We then headed over to the bar and had a drink while we waited for everyone else to arrive.

Their wifi was actually really fast!

After everyone arrived, our bay was ready. We headed over there and started smashing golf balls. The objective of it was to hit the targets that are out at varying distances. There are trackers in the ball that will score your game. In a way it’s kind of like bowling. The main difference between this and bowling is there’s multiple targets and people driving machines to pick up the balls (unfortunately you don’t get any points for hitting these).

Like I said, I’m not much of a golf person, but as the night went on, I started getting the hang of it. I had some pretty bad initial shots, but once I got the hang of it I was driving them 150-200 yards to the last targets. Also, as the night went on it got much darker and the targets started to light up.

This place was a lot of fun. I think I might have to go more often and start working on my golf swing. Maybe I’ll be able to hit a few more targets or actually become good enough to go regular golfing.
