Work Trip to Odessa

After I got back from my bowfishing trip to Illinois, I was scheduled to immediately hit the road for Odessa to fix their internet being down. We had attempted to remotely get the router up, but for some reason we couldn’t get it to connect. I hit the road early in the morning and it took 6 hours to get there.

Being on site definitely makes a difference. We were able to work with the ISP and get everything working within a couple hours of being on site. I was definitely happy when everything came back up and started running. After everything was confirmed as working, it was getting kind of late so I made my way to the hotel.

You can tell you were in the heart of the Texas Bible Belt when you saw the 10 Commandments outside the hotel.

The hotel lobby was nice.

The hotel room reminded me of a relic of the 70’s.

Especially not having a GFCI outlet by a sink.

The view itself was pretty good. You could tell I was in dusty West Texas as the window was dirty with dust.

For supper I tried a place called Texas Burger.

I just ordered their standard burger and fries.

The burger was a bit flat overall but wasn’t too bad.

I then went back to the hotel and got some sleep. The next day I went back to the office and finished up a few more things. After everything was done, it was another 6 hours on the road to get back to Austin.
